The Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Department of Information Science Engineering jointly arrange a technical talk on “SDN: Building Data Center Orchestration Products that matter” on 02/08/2016.

The faculty and the students from 5th semester CS&E and IS&E have attended the technical talk.

T Murali Venkat working as senior Technical Leader & Architect in the NFVi Business Group @Cisco was the resource person for the talk. He gave insights to the Software Defined Networking which is a current trend. Currently, he leads the development of Massively Scaled Data Center SDN-NFV Infrastructure & Orchestration products. Murali and his team actively contribute to Open Source Virtual Data plane forwarding project (https://fd.io).  As an early engineer @ GreenField Networks, a Carrier Ethernet focussed ASIC startup acquired by Cisco, he worked on 3 generations of successful Service Provider Access Routing platforms from Architecture -to- Chip definition -to-  Functional Chip Validation -to- Products that have generated over half–billion dollars in revenue. Murali started his career @ Novell working on Multi protocol Routers, NAT and TCP. Murali holds 4 US patents, has taught courses  @ Univ of California, Santa Cruz, and lectured @ Univ of Southern California. As an alumnus of Univ of Southern California & Information Sciences Institute he continues to be actively involved with USC Viterbi Engineering and sits on the USC Viterbi Corporate Advisory Board.
